Working closely with the sub-contractor, NORclad supplied almost 200m² of Oak timber cladding for this project.

The species called for was FSC-certified European Oak to this BREEAM excellent project.

The Oak was machined to our NWC2 profile, and installed with great care, pre-drilling a slightly oversized hole before fixing board, and interlocking the next.

Over time the timber will begin to weather off to a silver grey, in doing so there may be some tanning leaching/ bleeding from the timber where wet – natural extractives present in Hardwoods, nothing detrimental.

It is useful to know what to expect when specifying a timber, in particular Oak, so as to not raise questions later on in the lifespan of the project.
