Products specified, Treatment Services applied under ISO 9001 factory controlled conditions and installed.
Working closely with Stride Treglown Architects, Exeter University and Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Foundation Trust , a specification was created for this exciting traditionally built building project utilising a PEFC certified NORclad European Redwood in our A+ Quality. A high pressure impregnated “Brunnea” treatment was requested to offer a formal warranty on the product for 30 years against rot and fungal decay (out of ground contact), along with a good level of colour stability vis a vis traditional untreated species.
To create depth and welcoming aesthetics, a crisp clean closed T & G NORclad ex 25 x 150 mm NWC 2 profile for all the cladding aspects was selected. Ex 50 x 50, 50 x 150 mm planed special profiles installed in a vertical orientation were selected and manufactured, for the M & O Carpentry team to create off site, the very special “Mireille Gillings Neuroimaging Centre” integrated name of this important medical facility. This required high class joinery and carpentry skills and precision, and the end result looks spectacular.
As the specification developed the requirement for some elements to be Fire-treated to Euroclass B-s1-d0 (s1 Smoke Production – d0 Flaming Droplets) were also included.
The same fire treatment was applied to the backing structure battens which were regularised, pressure impregnated 47 x 50 mm.
A wonderful University of Exeter project in conjunction with the RD&E NHS Trust to work on in cooperation with all parties.
Thank you to all for your complimentary comments about NORclad and our products and services.
