Timber Cladding: NORclad European Redwood – A+Grade

Treatment: NORclad Brunnea Treatment

Completion: Summer 2021

Scroll down

NORclad supplied a PEFC-certified NORclad European Redwood in A+ Grade for this pair of high-end contemporary properties near Cheltenham.

The NORclad Brunnea treatment offers a formal warranty on the product for 30 years against rot and fungal decay (out of ground contact). Alongside this, the combination of dyes and pigment within the treatment provide a good level of colour stability VS traditional untreated species, which would typically weather back to a silver grey relatively fast.

Below is as image to show the product just after the installation was complete, the first boards have had approx. 3 weeks of UV exposure (North Elevation). At this stage the timbers still appear quite dark after treatment process, with the Dye visible on the face of timbers.

As the Brunnea treatment receives further exposure to UV the Dye on the surface of the timber will begin to fade down, and allow the lighter brown pigment within treatment to be seen. This transition can be seen below over the 6 month time line from visit 1, to visit 2.

Above are various images after 6 months of exposure (the front of the property is North Facing as a reference)
