A specification was created utilising a PEFC-certified NORclad European Redwood in A+ Grade, a very low knot content in this grade offer a very clean, contemporary feel to the timber.
Selected in the NWC2 face fixed profile, which creates a sharp vertical shadow line between each board.
NORclad “Brunnea” treatment offers a formal warranty on the product for 30 years against rot and fungal decay (out of ground contact), along with a good level of colour stability VS traditional untreated species.
“Over the past four years we have worked closely with our client and the local community to create two state-of-the-art facilities that will enhance the high standards delivered by Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service.
I am extremely proud of the work delivered by the teams on site and our appointment to the new station in St Helens is a huge testament to the quality of their work as well as their continued efforts to positively impact the local community.”
Paul Dodsworth, Managing Director of Wates Construction North
As the specification developed the requirement for all of the timbers to be Fire treated to Euroclass B-s1-d0 (s1 Smoke Production – d0 Flaming Droplets), a system fully compatible with the Brunnea treated cladding.
